Ponni Arasu

Ponni Arasu

Expressive Arts Therapist · Tamil Language Practice
Ponni is a Tamil, queer feminist Expressive Arts Therapist whose practice arrived through personal healing and years of work with marginalised communities in India and Sri Lanka. Trained as a historical anthropologist, lawyer, and theatre practitioner, she grounds her work in an embodied social justice framework — trauma-informed and deeply aware of oppression and the structures it creates. Inspired by Jungian ideas of wholeness and the collective, she believes in individual and collective bodies as sites of both oppression and liberation. Her practice is rooted in Tantra as proposed by Lata Mani — embracing interdependence, radical equality, and faith in a greater power that holds us. She has co-founded the Tamil Speaking Therapeutic Practitioner's Network. Her practice is primarily in Tamil, her mother tongue.
